For the past 23 years, Banque d’Escompte & Wormser Frères (which merged in 1999) have used Viveo systems to offer their customers tailor-made services and close relationships. In order to improve performance while complying with the new banking regulations, the private management bank has just renewed its faith in Viveo by entrusting it with a complete overhaul of its information system.Paris, 18 June 2009 – In 2008, faced with an outdated customer account management system, Bank Micro, associated with a plethora of specific applications, Banque d’Escompte decided to conduct an in-depth review of its processes and its information system in order to upgrade them to meet its new “core business” requirements and to comply with the latest regulations. After outsourcing its archiving and “Stock market / Securities” information system at the end of 2007, the private management bank had two options for its customer account information system: complete outsourcing of its IT services to another company or deployment of an integrated banking system. Philippe Fimayer, Secretary General of Banque d’Escompte, gave us his comments on the bank’s decision: “In order to acquire a system matching all our requirements and providing all the services that we want to give our customers while guaranteeing our independence, we favoured the approach of an integrated banking software package. In addition to the ability to centralize, in a single application, all the core facets of our business, this information system modernization project has enabled us to launch three major operations: optimization of credit management, implementation of SEPA payment method management and the overhaul of our customer communication resources.” To pilot this strategic project, Banque d’Escompte naturally turned to Viveo, the bank’s software partner for the past 23 years, selecting its V.bank integrated banking application, the most innovative integrated banking system on the market (SOA, web 2.0, etc.) supported by its multidisciplinary teams.
The contract between Banque d’Escompte and Viveo was signed in April 2009. Philippe Fimayer told us the reasons for the bank’s decision: “After an overview of the market, V.bank soon stood out from other solutions with its global banking approach dedicated to our core business, private management, its technological relevance, its simple interface with the Securities system and its parameterization flexibility. Already highly acclaimed “in the field” by many banking establishments, V.bank guarantees us a banking system that complies with the most recent banking regulations while giving better data availability and relevant automation of our processes.”
He added: “Another determining factor, and a significant one at that, was the fact that we had already seen Viveo’s know-how in action in the past, in its support for and management of a defining project. By using an experienced team, fully aware of our specific characteristics and the banking business, we were assured of “tailor-made” support at all stages of our project, from computerization through to management of compliance with banking regulations.”
The V.bank solution will be implemented in “Big Bang” mode in November 2009. Philippe Fimayer described his expectations: “The new Viveo system should make our staff’s work considerably simpler and more fluid, releasing them from the burden of many administrative tasks so that they can concentrate on added value, listening to and maintaining close relationships with our customers. In addition, our staff and customers will have access to reliable and up to date information with the aim of providing a fast response to all demands, from the simplest to the most complex.”
He concluded: “Finally, the e-banking dimension of V.bank opens up new prospects for us in terms of customer relations, by enabling us to design a range of services easily on our website, as an extension of our information system.”
